Hello, my fertile-minded followers!
You may have noticed my absence from updates here. I apologize for that. I have been well personally, so no need to worry. The easiest way to explain my absence is that of burnout, but the sources of those misgivings I will explain below.
The Misgivings
My blog here has been operating for over a decade now, and it definitely shows its age. It's heyday seemed to be between 2014 - 2015, after which it hit a plateau in viewership that I never have been able to quite breach. And after 2018, it went into a steady decline. Granted I've never done advertising or marketing of any significant kind, so all this was organic growth and something I was and am quite proud of. But fundamentally I think this mode of content-sharing is just outdated and not serving my audience best.
Speaking of content, that's been a problem on a few fronts. First, I've come to rely on mostly just sharing stuff I'd gathered from around the internet, which was easy enough but not exactly original. The pictures and gifs were no-brainers, but even the prospect of regenerating my stores of them became burdensome. Site reviews and comics were better, but I definitely didn't feel energized at the prospect of making those. And the real good posts of original content - stories, captions, video - I haven't made in a long time due to that lethargy and increasing guilt of having not delivered content for awhile.
Second, my original and premium content has become more interesting to me over the years, but my blog here was adapted to being a free content source. While I still do believe it is a useful model to have plenty of free content for others to enjoy with some sources of premium awesome content for those willing to pay, I don't know if I handled it very well structurally or otherwise. In any case my production of work diminished to basically nothing over time, and the guilt I felt about not delivering to my audience, particularly my Patrons, just further sapped my will to continue delivering that work.
My blog had been also getting a spate of content warnings and strikes. I'd never had content strikes before, but it seemed to herald the coming of the end of the blog anyway on this platform. This is not the first time Blogger has cracked down on adult topics. For an already burning-out mindset, the notion of having hard-work thrown into the trash by the platform itself was particularly demoralizing. How long would it be until my whole blog got the big red stamp? I don't know, but it didn't inspire much enthusiasm for sure.
For a time I went back into the backlogs of my work here and began trying to clean them up, not just for off-limit content but also for personal sentiments. I've come to find certain topics that I used to enjoy not enjoyable anymore. Even porn itself, a major swath of what I post here, has largely lost its luster for me. In short I think certain topics are degrading to people and encourage actual bad behavior. I'd have to go into my detail on what I mean in some future post, but in any case I felt so uneasy about promoting those topics that I've come to dispose of it from my own work. I feel strongly enough about this that I unpublished premium works that were making the majority of my revenue. I have refused commissions and publishing of other work that, while great in terms of writing in my opinion, were violating my changing conscience on those matters.
But there is so, so much content that I don't agree with anymore that riddles this blog, and so much that I found I'd become addicted to that I can't stomach anymore. To go back through over a decade of posts and selectively dismantle the work of my own hands was an unpleasant task to even think about, let alone do. During a time where I could hardly muster up the energy to make original content, to trash older work was arduous and unrewarding for everyone. So those efforts stopped after awhile, and so did my uploading of new content as well.
Overall, there were many reasons why my uploading fizzled away. Not for the first time either, just the most apparent time.
Why I made Impregnation Erotica
This blog has been one of my favorite accomplishments. I began this effort way back in 2011. I had been inspired by a fellow author Tara Bridges (creator of The Colony universe, a fun breeding scenario) who had made her own blog on this platform and one which I emulated in the creation of mine. What I wanted to make was a repository of impregnation-themed erotica of every sort, having found that my favorite sexual genre was woefully difficult to find for someone as search-illiterate as I.
Over the years, I was able to find all kinds of sources of great stories, videos, captions, games, and more. I partnered with TheImpregNation to facilitate erotic writing competitions, worked with Lelu Love to give prizes to story competitions, saw scripts turned into comics and videos, promoted even more artists and writers too numerous to recount here, and of course got to share my own work. It was using the platform of this blog that I got the first tender sales for my writing.
To know that something I made would actually be enjoyed by other people to the point that they would buy it was so incredibly affirming and inspiring. It's been great having been able to share my passion for this kind of erotica and share not just the great works of others but my own to those who share my enjoyment. I wanted to make a place where a niche topic could have the kind of exploration and collection that I was always searching for, and I think in my small way I contributed towards that over many years of effort. For that I am happy to have helped bring happiness to others.
Going Forward
So, going forward, what will happen? I'm not sure. I think the writing is on the wall for Blogger, but which other platform(s) would be a better home for a blog of this nature? Given all the issues I listed I think the only reasonable course is either to accept a retirement from this kind of work, or to create a new Impregnation Erotica on a different platform that can give me a clean slate and address the other issues.
If I would do the latter, it would be focused specifically on original content, sharing great authors and artists, and as a storehouse of other breeding content in a more suitable format. On my side I would have to fully figure out a healthier lifestyle and relationship with the erotic and get more disciplined about producing great works for you all. That way I can feel more fully comfortable with the work I've put out and more inspired to actually contribute more to it. In any case, I'd like to soon retire this blog and possibly have all the best of it preserved on a new site like that in such a way that my loyal audience would agree that it was all a great improvement.
So if you know of a better place to make a new site, examples of formats that you find enjoyable, suggestions on improvements, or just want to say something about all this, please let me know in the comments or via email to DerrenGrathy@gmail.com so I can consider them. It's been one of my greatest pleasures to share some fantasies and the enjoyable materials of others with you, and I hope you all have enjoyed what I have provided over the years.
Some of the best impreg content around! Wether you decide to continue or not this was alway a go-to place. Would love to know where you find your sources for your images.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I check this place at least once a week. the reason being that you find some of the best impregnation content here. sure, the rate of posting has gone down, but my mind usually went, oh that must mean that they're having a hard time finding new content cause of how hard it is to find impregnation content.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what, I appreciate all that you have done with this site.
I enjoy your work, been following this blog since 2015(anonymously) but here i am, sorry about you get those strike, Best wishes for the future :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes bro this been a good site
ReplyDeleteTell us where you will be posting your new stuff. I have been a fan for years!
ReplyDeleteAn additional factor in the decrease in traffic is potentially the way that Blogger has blocked access to adult blogs for anyone who wasn't logged in.
ReplyDeleteKeep us updated! We’ve loved your blog, and I’d hate to see this one go. If you do find a new platform, I for one would happily follow you there!
ReplyDeleteSome artists on Hentai Foundry have WordPress for their catalog (e.g. InCase). Perhaps that could be an alternative platform for your blog?
ReplyDeleteThanks for everything you've done all these years and even if the blog goes, I hope you continue to do this for as long as you enjoy doing it.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you mentioned a Tara Bridges, who is that? Do they still have a site to check out?
I would love to know too!
DeleteI've enjoyed your content for many years sir. Thank you for your efforts.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link to that Colony game by Tara Bridges?
ReplyDeleteI tried to do a quick google search, but didn't find anything.
